Mudjack: Nitro Trucks

Six trucks. One mud pit. No brakes worth mentioning.

Mudjack Nitro Trucks is stadium off-road racing the way the arcades did it: the whole track on one screen, six trucks bumping wheels, and a crowd that wants to see someone fly. Floor it into the first corner, slide through the mud, and hit the ramp dead straight, or don’t, and twist the truck in mid-air to save the landing. Grab the blue nitro canisters and save them for the one straight where it counts.

Every knock leaves a mark. Clip a wall or come down hard off a jump and your truck starts losing parts: the front bar, the roof lights, the hood scoop. By the last lap you might be limping home in a cloud of black smoke. It won’t stop you, but it will slow you down.

Race 9 stadium tracks, from the tight turns of Hairpin Arena to the big jumps of Big Air Arena and the rocky climbs of Quarry Run. Mud grabs your tyres, water sprays, and on the asphalt you can finally open it up. In Quick Race the other trucks match your own pace, so every race is close.

In career mode you start in Division 4 with a stock truck and a bad attitude. Race 4-race seasons for points and prize money. Finish in the top two to move up a division, or finish in the bottom two and drop down. Spend your winnings in the garage on engine, acceleration, tyres and a bigger nitro tank, or on fixing the truck you just smashed. Your rival Rusty Ray follows you from division to division. Beat him.
