Honk of Olympus

Out Of Tokens Studios

Zeus has turned himself into a goose. Again. Now the king of the gods is diving off Mount Olympus toward a riverside picnic, and his wife Hera has sent the entire pantheon to stop him.

Honk of Olympus: Zeus's Descent is a comedy arcade shoot 'em up and falling platformer steeped in Greek mythology, with bullet-hell boss fights against the gods. Dive 10,000 meters from the marble halls of Olympus to the river meadows of Greece, outfly the gods and stick the landing. It plays instantly in your browser, with no download.

⚡ Every turn is an attack

The goose never stops moving: he always dives on a 45° diagonal, and you only choose which way. Turning fires a homing Zig-Zap of lightning at the nearest foe, so the more you zigzag, the harder you hit and the higher your combo climbs.

  • Graze bullets to fill your Thirst Thermometer, then spend it on a screen-clearing Thunderclap
  • HONK to parry: bat feather-darts back at the gods, shatter cracked marble and daze monsters
  • Land on ledges and clouds and waddle along them: part shoot 'em up, part falling platformer
  • Follow the Golden Breadcrumbs: they always mark a way down

🏛️ Three acts of divine trouble

Act I: The Cloud Slalom

Sneak past Hera's spies. Cherub snitches swoop in from every side to report you, peacocks sweep the sky with their gaze, and if her suspicion climbs too high, a giant eye opens in the clouds. Hide in pink clouds, zap the snitches and survive the Cloud Labyrinth of Daedalus, where the Minotaur hunts you ledge by ledge.

Act II: The Storm of Argos

Hera's storm rolls in. Slip through the Clashing Rocks, dodge Ixion's wheel of fire and Sisyphus's runaway boulder, and take on Iris and Hermes, the divine postal service. Then Ares, god of war, comes to run you down in his flaming chariot, getting angrier as the fight goes on. So will you.

Act III: Wrath of the Matriarch

Rolling pins, shredded marriage contracts, a storm-wrapped labyrinth and, at last, Supreme Matriarch Hera herself, with lightning curtains and a glare that could curdle nectar. Beat her, glide down over the Greek countryside and land on the picnic blanket. Miss, and it's the soup pot.
